Born and raised in England, I now make my home in Southern California with my husband of 40 years. As a therapist, my focus is to help people move beyond their intellectual understanding of an issue and into contact with what they are feeling - becoming aware of how these feelings may be both impactful and arresting to their development.
I offer meaningful support to individuals, couples, and families who want to deepen their awareness and connection with themselves and others. Healing happens when people shift from an intellectual understating of issues to an emotional awareness, finding the courage to make contact with what is real and true at the center of their person.
It is not what we are driven to do (perfection, achievement, eating, drinking, drugs, isolation) that is the core of our issues, it is what we are running from (fear, rejection, pain, death, helplessness, dependence) that affects our being.
My goal is for individuals to find new aspects of freedom - to experience more aliveness and a greater sense of well being and presence, resulting in greater intimacy and resolve both with themselves and others.
We might begin by asking the question, "How did your world become smaller than it was meant to be?"
